Woo Hoo

Post by funnymachine » Fri May 30, 2008 9:15 pm

Got the bugger through an MOT today...

Now all I gotta do is (re) learn to ride it!

Been riding a Honda DAX and the difference between the two bikes is insane.

I just can't ride the TRX at 30 MPH.

Going to have to practice NOT making a good noise every time I ride it :-)

I used to live on Ladbroke Grove and my kids lived in Ringwood in Hampshire...

I could get from Ringwood to Ladbroke Grove by car in under an hour (I can't recall the exact time).

So the other way around on a bike...

And Bournemouth is 10 minutes away from Ringwood.

But from Oxford Street I suggest getting on the A40 heading out towards Amersham and Chesham - either tun off at Denham or go past M25 and out to J16, 17 or 18.

Basically you'll hit The Chilterns and there are some fairly fun roads out there (15 - 20 minutes from London).

Watch out for speed traps on A40 though.

Or you could go right out to West Wycombe and back in on the scenic route (old A40).

Destination could be The Hell Fire Caves (look it up - recommend the coffee cake and a visit to the centre of the Earth if it is hot).

Or on your way back at Hanger Lane you are 2 minutes from the Ace Cafe - pop in for a cup of tea and a grease sandwich.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Mark.

... or if you're out towards West Wycombe and the Hell Fire Caves, why not come over to Englands Rose and join me for an all-day breakfast (it's a regular haunt for other London escapees) and a trip to Foxes before heading home :D
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

I guess alot of it is knowing how to get out. i went out on the a40 the other day and it took forever. could not get throughthe traffic and got very p£$$ed off. I went in to work today and was told i was not needed so i headed up the m1 and figured out how to get the hell out of dodge with out to much bother. then headed up to hemel hampsted. and north to leighton buzzard. was not to bad.
i guesss alot of it has to do with knowing how to get to the arterys and then how far you have to go befor you can get off.

rex if the weathers good the weekend coming of the one after i might take you up on that matter.

:D I think Martin has sussed it, those southerners don't know how to leave the 'smoke'. Just follow the A1 north, If you keep going take a laptop as Our Northern colleagues will get you somewhere to stay.
