:? For our Aussie cousins, when the temperature at ground level falls to 0 degrees centigrade, or below then any films of water on the tarmac road surface freeze. Therefore to stop vehicles from skidding on this solid film we call ice, the local councils send out gritting lorries which spray from a rotary disc at the back a grit/camel piss/molasses mix in solidified form. This allows the vehicle tyres to gain some grip on the cold slippery suface. Unfortunately for motorcyclists this can make the road similar to having gravel (very small pieces of stone) laid on it!

I live half a mile from this river, the photograph is taken from the road. Behind the photographer by about 100yds is a 90 degree bend! This was where I met the gritting lorry coming in the opposite direction.

Hope this enlightens you all.

Gotta agree with Ash - your first comment would probably only make sense after a few beers

I am now enlightened

I am negotiating a rear brake lever with Phuk72 as we speak...

I am gonna put flat bars on it etc and take it back for MOT as soon as.

When is your run - Avebury is a fair way for me (especially if there are roundabouts :-)

Cheers

:D Mark check the thread. Avebury is 20 miles further for me, as I live out in the sticks (March).
