Re: Tyres
You guys may remember that I also asked about tyres on here , and replaced my back tyre (Michelin Pilot Road ) with a Pilot Road 2 and to date I'm very happy. My front tyre is a Pilot Sport 120/60/17 and after reading the comments on here I will be replacing it in due course with a Pilot Sport 120/70/17.
I live at the bottom of a great mountain road and like to go for a fang up the hill as often as time and weather permit, but also do a reasonable amount of open road/touring riding so don't want to be replacing my hoops too often.
Did anyone else here in OZ have trouble getting Michelins? I had to wait 4 weeks for my rear.
Maybe the dealer I went through is slack, but they insisted that these tyres are hard to come by at the moment.
Will post my comments when I fit the new front tyre(for what its worth)

Re: Tyres
Dunno where you are in Oz, but Michelin tyres are easy to get here in Adelaide... don't bother with dealers go straight to MC Tyre specialists. IMHO when the time comes to replace your front with a Pilot Road 2 front, not with a Pilot Sport. I have used both, and the Pilot Sport was the ducks guts in its day, but that was in '98/99. The Pilot Road 2 front is better in terms of feel, grip, wear, steering and most importantly as we slip into winter the Pilot Road 2 warms up much quicker than the Sport.kenmore wrote:You guys may remember that I also asked about tyres on here , and replaced my back tyre (Michelin Pilot Road ) with a Pilot Road 2 and to date I'm very happy. My front tyre is a Pilot Sport 120/60/17 and after reading the comments on here I will be replacing it in due course with a Pilot Sport 120/70/17.

Re: Tyres
Mine's on BT014's, very good with every kind of weather ánd on track. Nice smooth tyre wear
But the Michelin's will (also) do fine on your REX.
Just have fun!
