First Ride

Post by kookimonsta » Sun Feb 10, 2008 1:07 pm

Rode my trx for the first time today, (well i rode it home lastnight). fec**ing great. just rolled on the throttle in third and the back end stepped out and threw me into a tankslapper. the road was damp and the tyres were cold but i always like to know a bike can bite me back if i get too cocky haha. i love it when it all goes into slow motion for tha split second.

gonna give it a service at work inabit and i'll go out for a ride with a mate on his r6 so that should give me a good idea of how capable it is :)

Me too. Well, not the first ride but the first long ride. Ah, what a great bike I bought! :D Smooth on the throttle and still more nimble than my YZF.
(On paper the difference is very small but the YZF sure does feel heavier.)
And... that sound!!

Ive got a GSXr and a TRX, and the TRX is a beautiful bike to ride, love the power, its all over the place, any time you need it, dont down shift, just crank it. But i must say that to me the GSX-R handles better, or maybe im just very used to it, in corners i feel i can go in a lot faster, but on the trx i still hesitate a little.

The other day i was riding and came up to a GSX-R750 (k4 i think), it was faster but not by much (all in the top end) but the power i get with the TRX is wonderful. I just wish my TRX had something like 120 ponies, that would be gold.

Well, the YZF actually has 120 ponies, but only at 8000+ rpm ( TRX's red line! ) of course. On the street I almost never use these high revs. On torque the TRX and YZF do surprisingly the same: about 80 Nm, but they are way different on revs. That's also why I have more difficulties to maintain the more legal speeds on the TRX... (which is funny, because the YZF should be way faster!)
