Hello

Post by bernardo » Tue May 22, 2007 9:41 am

just picked up a '98 TRX. Bike is basically sound (read tatty) but been sitting for a while after a crash.
This site has allowed me to sort out most of what I need.
The rear brake caliper is knackered and I'm too lazy to do the seals, so apart from another TRX caliper what else fits.
Also the rear feels too low. I've seen jack up kits on ebay, are they any good or should I try dogbones from another bike?

Thanks

Bernard

Hello Bernard and welcome.

If it feels too low, maybe it's got longer dogbones fitted to lower the seat if the previous owner was a shortar... sorry, smaller person! So a change back to standard ones would do the trick.

If it's got standard fitted, and you need it higher, YZF750 dogbones are shorter so raise the rear up. Obviously this will affect handling...

Dunno about rear calipers from other bikes that are a straight swap, but second hand TRX rears appear on ebay from time to time. Put a post in Wish List on this forum: chances are someone has got a spare they'll sell you.

Dave.
