My TRX squashed by a transit

Post by cravensmythe » Fri Aug 21, 2015 8:21 pm

Not posted on here for ages but today was a sad day as my bike went under a transit on a left hand bend.

I guess the bike will be written off even though all the damage is to the plastics and brackets.

Just pleased I have a witness to say I was riding safely, and my leathers took all the body damage.

Just thought I'd vent!

Oh no, what happened? If you can buy it back for cheap you could sell a good engine for a fair wedge, or fix it up as the bits turn up..
'95 4NX with K&N filter, Motad Venom cans, YSS PD valves, Ohlins fork springs, 530 C+S, Green CDI, 11/16 radial master cylinder, +30mm jack up dog bones. Enjoyable money pit.

I couldn't decide what to do, whether to go through the insurance or just buy the bits. It is being collected by assessor on Monday, I just hope it isn't a too long and drawn out process.

It was so slow the main bike seems fine, I rode it home and it felt straight. It just looks sad with the smashed front.

It didn't help the transit driver reversed straight away destroying the other side of the fairing.

Engine is mint as it has only done 16000 miles

Damn, that's bad luck.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune and hope you're on the road again soon.
