Last week it was a fairing mounting bracket about to come away from the frame. Today it was the rear brake stabilising arm, where the rear nut on the long strut with lightening holes had wound itself back tight onto the split pin. Eek! Everything looked fine, and it was only the act of wiping a rag into the nooks around the bolt that revealed that it was loose and would have fallen off if not for the pin.
Thnx again to this forum, as I was able to torque it up to manual spec without hassle.
Glad I found that one.
Next thing to conquer is oil level confidence. Read all the threads here, printed the relevant manual page and will pick up oil Monday morning to have her topped up for Tuesday's planned 4-bike run. Its funny how my TRX concerns are so kindergarten compared to you old hands who've perhaps forgotten how strange the mysteries of oil checking can be for a new chum
BTW, any good tips for getting crushed, pureed and baked bug out of your radiator? Trixie is my first bike with a fairing and my first water cooled bike. I'm loving how easy it is to get the splatted bugs off a faired bike compared to prising bits of exploded beetle, bee and dragonfly from the inside every nook and cranny in the front end. But maintaining airflow through the radiator looks like its going to be a constant PITA. Lots of scraping out crud and opening up crushed fins, as every decent run around my place involves travel through scenic, bug-infested farming country.
How good is cleaning?
Cheers
