Rear brake caliper?
Hi, having taken the fronts off to replace with Blue Spots, I now see that the rear caliper is binding, and looks bit shot. Any non-mod replacements? Do calipers from FZR600R, XJ1200, Thundercat or even TDM850 fit, as TRX ones are like hens teeth secondhand for a decent one?

Re: Rear brake caliper?
I guess there's none then. Looks like a strip job, new pistons and seals etc. Seems the TRX rear calipers are being bought by the Fazer guys as an upgrade.

Re: Rear brake caliper?
I know the YZF750 one is the same, but aside from that I am unsure. No doubt it is shared with other bikes, but I dont know which ones
There are a few who have swapped for different calipers, try the search function in the top right and see what pops up

96-01 XJR 12/1300 use the same calliper too so another option to try.
First couple of yrs the r1 used the same 245mm size disc with a calliper bracket using a blue spot calliper that only needs a few mods to get it working if you have access to machining tools and a little time and patience.
The later R1 uses a smaller 220mm disc and a calliper mounted on top with a locator welded on the swing arm.
