Cyclists are different in the UK and Australia. Your average UK cyclist will hop on the bike just to nip out for milk. Your average Australian cyclist has a bike worth $3k, uses the Commodore to get milk and would never ride his bike unless licra clad and in the Cadel Evans mindset.

Cyclists are part of the solution. I just wish more Australian cyclists were a bit more.....normal. That said they aee not helped by the average Australian motorist or by stupid mandatory helmet laws

cyclist casualties are going to go up, it has to unfortunately as there are more of them on the roads.

Its all about a mindset I think. I have rode in France where cyclists are given a lot of respect. Over here we just try and stay alive.

My point is everyone describes cycling as a menace on the roads, I would argue its more 50 50.

Snake Pass and surrounding areas today....Lots of them about 2 and 3 abreast, headphones on and zipping past each other without bothering to take a look over their shoulders....Even saw one guy towing a kiddie trailer thingy on very busy, very narrow lanes....Nuts.
