They should, they have half a "free" turn between max and min, and 4 (?) selectable "clicks"

Ermm..............it's the rebound damping thats adjustable - the compression damping is adjusted by oil weight on standard TRX forks

1974 Yamaha RD250A, Candy Blue
1998 Yamaha SZR660, blue of course

They will keep turning if the factory adjusters have been removed and aftermarket shim stacks (cartridge emulators) have been installed.
What do you mean I can't ride 7 bikes at once?

thing is I can see by the top nuts someone has had the fork internals out, and the forks feel stiffer to the bike I had a test ride on in the summer so was just wondering with adjusters turning full circle have the gold emulaters been fitted, maybe I will have to just take them out myself and see

Correct, itzs only the rebound that is adjustable. If emulators have been fitted, You should have no clicks at all, since the adjusting rods have to be cut (and the adjustment valves are actually replaced by the emulators), so if You have clicks, but stiffer suspension, my guess is that previous owner changed oil and/or springs.
