Taper roller headstock bearings...

Just before I throw everything back together, is it going to be worth doing a taper roller conversion on the headstock? The standard ball and race bearings look/feel ok, but it seems silly not to change them if I can ...
Any feedback appreciated.

I fitted taper races on my previous bike (FZ600) and compared to the standard races they were almost totally free of 'friction'. Yes , I did install them correctly before anyone asks. Personally I didn't like the loose feeling to the steering but was stuck with it until I decided to revert to the standard ball races.

I've fitted tapers to a few bikes in the past. They work well but are harder to adjust correctly (IMO) These days I always fit genuine and adjust them according to the manual - perfect results everytime!

Would that be genuine balls Honk??
Would I be better off if my balls were in the right place and properly adjusted.. not too tight ??

Yes indeed.... Although the bottom one is a taper!
