Neutral and RPM

I had a weird thing happen today. When I stopped at a set of lights I felt a very light clunk in the bike. I had the idle screw turned up a little as it was still warming up. It was on about 1500rpm and when I popped in into neutral it dropped to around 1100rpm. When I put it back into first it didn't rise but afetr a couple fo blips of the throttle it settled back at 1500rpm. Back to neutral and down to 1100rpm. I did this a few times on the rest of the way to work and it didn't do it everytime. I also sure I can hear the faintest of extra noise from the bike, maybe from the right side. It's got fresh oil, less than 300km, and has been running beautifully up till now. Is there anything that anyone can think of immediately that might be worth checking out? I am thinking of dropping the oil and having a really good look around inside all the engine covers. I have never before noticed a drop in rpm between neautral and in gear.

Still running std carbs??? When was the last time you had them balanced??
It was prob. mmm 2 n half yrs before I finally had a tune/dyno and can recall mornings much the same which sorted all those problems then I created them again by buying (6 mths ago) fcr's and now a new exhaust last week...lol.. and the extra noise i find when the revs drop are coming from the shims which haven't been done in about 45,000 so thats next week...never ending but you gotta love it...   for an edumicated guess that is... :D :D

Yeah your probably right. I had the carbs apart about 6 months ago and I know I do have the smallest of tears in one of the diaphragms maybe it's not the smallest of tears anymore. It has had a jet kit of some sort put through them but I had trouble trying to figure out what they had done. Maybe it's time for a complete carby overhaul. Can't afford FCR's and want to wait to do a FI/Supercharger conversion anyway. I did an overhaul on teh first TRX I had. Did float heights, fueling, the lot and it went like a rocket afterwards. Time for some TLC.

Yer went from 70.6h/p to 77.2h/p by sorting out carbs.... =D> =D> just getting the right balance/ mixture/flow..had staintunes on it when i bought it and larger mainjets had been fitted but staintunes are designed to run on std jetting. [-X
KEV 07 STIMULUS package coming up ..$900 ...shout yourself some fcr's..

I had this up a while back, even put a video up of the phenomenon...
Everything goes away when i use my other CDI with TPS mod (tried change TPS as well but no good)
