Deck Height

Anyone know the factory deck height on the TRX850 engine ?
I only ask because some ppl use kent cams, which have a lift of 8.4mm, where as the stock lift is 8.0mm. If changing from OEM gasket to a copper gasket / metal shim / etc, you can bump your compression slightly. But knowing your deck height does help make sure you dont push a valve into your piston.. Which would be inherently bad.

Anyone know ? if not, ill have to manually calculate it.. Bit annoying but such is life really. pls help :)

I have no measure for that, but I measured the distance between valves and piston, with Kent cams and with optimized squish (removed material both from cylinder and head). Was not anywhere near the minimum recommendations I got (which I can't recall right now  )

I might have to put some effort into finding out for myself and report the findings back. I dont have alot of free time currently, but if need be, ill make time and just go to bed 30mins later than usual. Work is CRAZY atm, money is good, but no time off.. makes for a sad quan :(

If You're thinking of fitting a thinner gasket, I can guarantee You there will be space enough. I forgot to mention, but I have the JE pistons as well, and although they have valve pockets, I guess they're all in all higher than standard pistons. I think the distances between both Inlet/exhaust and piston were quite a lot more than 2 mms.

heh, im enjoying the money, just not much time to spend it.. Mind you, the govt has found ways to try to take it from me. Land rates just came in.. i swore.. loud..
I got 10 more weeks shutdown work at a power station here. Without power.. yer, the state tends to fall to pieces.. So its urgent work. As i said, good money + lots of overtime, but not much time off to do anything atm.
