Brake bleeding ?

Brake Bleeding is an utter pain in the arse Job anyone have any tips ? just installed me Goldspots and the r1 Lever asslembly/master cylinder onto the trex but having hell of a time getting them to firm up any tips ?

Personally I'm not a fan of sucking the fluid through from the bleed nipple but using a syringe to do this does seem to be effective
I prefer to push the fluid through by pumping the lever. Try flicking the hoses to see if you can release any airlocks or cable tie the lever to the bar and leave overnight
There'll be plenty along to tell you their way works as well

I find with braided hoses I can only ever get it to work by using a syringe. On stock hoses I find it works fine by leaving the bleed nipples closed off and flicking the lever in and out. then you can bleed the air and dirt out afterwards.

Bit of feel coming into them now had to remove calipers place them above the master cyclinder and keep pressing the pistons back in to flush the air that appears to have been trapped inside the calipers out left it lever back to the bar for a while now in a few hours when im dry ill go back out and bleed them through some more and hopefully all will be well!
Thanks for the tips guys a sticky of all the best ways to bleed brakes would IMO be well worth putting together would it not ?

Yep a brake bleeding sticky would be a tops idea
I had a look around this morning as I was thinking of getting myself the vacuum type kit for bleeding brakes. I stumbled across this site

There's a good tip for making sure you get some air out of the system overnight.
With the reservoir lid off, depress the brake lever halfway and secure it with a Velcro tie, a zip tie, tape or whatever. Leave it overnight. In the morning put the cap back on, take off the tie, push the bike and pump the lever a couple of times...if you're in luck it will firm up."

or maybe you could try tying the lever to the bar with something like a cable tie and leaving it overnight?

left it like that tonight lets see how the bungee works in the morning........
road ride earlier had the lever all the way back to the bar and that was with the span set at max so deffo still air in there but at least there is enough power in them to ride safe at the moment sure the air will moe its way out with riding and re bleeding now

Worth a try
There's no need to leave the reservoir cap off. What benefit is this supposed to provide? It's not good practice as brake fluid is hygroscopic. But taping the brake lever back does normally work.
Personally I use the method of drawing the fluid through from the bleed nipples.

At the risk of repeating myself (another thread), simply use a mityvac or cheaper equivalent, attach hose to bleed nipple and pump away. Quicker than a syringe by far, even if your syringe is horse or enema sized.
My blue spots have been fine using that method and were done with the calipers in place. That was about 5 minutes work - it's quicker if you have a second person pouring fresh DOT4 into the master cylinder.

At the risk of repeating myself (another thread), simply use a mityvac or cheaper equivalent, attach hose to bleed nipple and pump away. Quicker than a syringe by far, even if your syringe is horse or enema sized.

Wot he said, had the same prob with my Rex after fitting SBK mod and other brake lines. I had too a second person to help me and indeed its a 5 min job that way.
