Ok, apart from engine and suspension mods (in hand) the two things I'd like to change are the rear end and the position/actuation of the fuel tap.

Steve Speed has already said how much work is involved in an R1 tail convesion , so what's the easiest? SV? anybody got any pics?

Also has anyone figured out remote actuation of the fuel tap, as reaching behind my left ankle on a motorway isn't fun. I know some 90's bikes (Hndnas) had a remote actuator.

YZF750, FZR600/1000 had an electrically actuated tap with a switch on the fairing I think.

for a swingarm, try a YZF750, thats a common mod.. And a nice ohlins shocky. Should fix you right up.

As for the fuel tap thing..

i vote +1 for a fuel gauge.

There are no simple rear end changes to the seat unit. Anything you want to do will involve cutting and welding.

And yeah, the fuel tap is a pain but I have to agree with Dave. If you find yourself normally hitting reserve at 120 miles, start looking to fill up every 100 miles. Simple if you ask me

i have just finished fitting the R1 seat pad it has taken about 10 hours ,,and i to hate the fuel tap but my mates have superdukes and firestorms so we always fill up every 100 miles ,so not much of a problem

Electronic reserve on the Virago, switch on the handlebars. It didnt work!!, was a problem on them all.
