ok the bike wont start

Plugs are ok good spark
fuel getting to the right parts
Carbs been apart and seem fine but waiting on the factory pro bits to arrive anyway while they are off but not much wear and all seem clean and un scored

whats next to check ?
seems to me it smells like its flooding what would this seem to indicate ?

Could the fact ive removed to orginal clocks be doing somthing to the TPS ?
what is this TPS mod i see often refred to ? ive searched and keep finding threads where people mention it ut not the actual mod itself?

fuel level?
worn emulsion tubes?

are you using the choke? don't. Open the throttle full and hold it there.

valve stretch - no clearances - exhaust valves not closing?

i am using choke yes but tried it without and no better off it seems ?
wont doing as you suggest just flood the bike?
emulsion tubes on there way from factory pro so will see when they arrive

no it won't flood it - it will help clear it as you're opening up the butterfly, which is the air valve, all the way.

I shall give it a try if it dont work as soon as the carbs go back on with the new bits in it cheers

stil waiting for me carb bits they left the usa on the 15th had hoped they would be here today but nadda

hate to rub it in but i ordered mine from Germany http://www.kedo.com and they arived in under 3 days

i had the same problem and all seems sorted now But i put a Dynojet kit in for good measure

and the price was good too

I picked up a rexie recently in my travels and also had problems starting it when cold - it would only start if I gave it a roll/push start. Once warmed up she seemed fine. Anyway, after scouring all the trx info on the web, those in the know all point to the valve clearances when you have problems starting. Mine's a 96 model with 63k on it. Off went the alarm bells when I found out that these models are prone to inlet valve stretch (funny how you find out about these things AFTER you buy a new baby). Dropped her off to the mechanic on Saturday to get him to check the clearances and guess what - no clearance on all 6 inlet valves. I would suggest you heed the advice of the rex riders who have paved the way before us and go get them clearances checked!

check the fuel line under your tank isnt kinked, same happened to me and would only run on prime. found a kinked vacuum(I THink) hose and hasnt missed a beat.

emulsion tubes turnt up for the carbs so fitted them last night will pop them back on the bike this weekend and see what happens

carbs back on all fitted up fired first try and starts perfect now so guessing emulsion tubes sorted it all out
