ya the heads are identical, the only enjun differences are the gearbox ratios.

while your on the subject of tdm vs trx similarities, daft as this might sound but do you reckon the size of thread et all would be the same on the oil filler spouts????

found a filler cap that doubles up as an oil temp guage and always wanted to know what oil temps are out of interest whilst on a run, dont want the hassles of returning it if its wrong.
im pretty damn certain something that minor would be the same??

thanks Pete

again you are my hero man!!!!

all i need now is someone to translate that german into english so i can tell if they post to the uk or not, my german is a little rusty these days.

i wish i hadnt read that thread now because i was just starting to convince myself i didnt need fcr's for my trx but now i want them again. infact im getting desperate for a set of them and might even resort to murder for them, if you hear of a set going then you know what to do!! :D

Yes - part of the reason the earlier TDMs make less power than the TRXs with the 'same' engine

Everyone blames the exhuast or the CDI but it's a combo of all 3

Pretty sure the cams have something to do with it as well, or was that already mentioned?

I'm not sure they are (at least for the 270 crank models)?

mmmmmmm i'm doubting yer statement but i know fook all !!! the 1996 onwards TDM has practically the same enjun as the TRX, oil refer to the Haynes book of lies and see if it sheds some loight on the situation. the earlier TDM's (pre 1996) are vibey as hell and quite different and do not interest me!
