Yes, like so many others I have a leaky fuel tap. I bought a repair kit and removed the tank only to discover that the elbow is complete loose. I can't think of any way this is ever going to fit securely again. Any ideas? If not can anyone then point me in the direction of a compatible ebay replacement? Preferably a European based seller.

Also in this case search is your friend - as far as I remember, some here had the same problem and used some (fuel-resistant / two component?!) glue to keep the "elbow" in place.

just run a thin electrical tie around the top of the tap and over the elbow, it's with most people do.

Yep, that would be me. Liquid metal, or what is it called. Works for several years now.

Most people on here replace it with a non-vacuum type fuel tap, just on-off.

The original fuel tap has the elbow glued in position with some type of epoxy.
Too much maneuvering of the fuel line can cause the glue bond to break, and it will begin to leak.
JB Weld, or similar types of metal added epoxy, might work to hold it in place, but as mentioned, most of us ditch the original tap for one that doesn't leak from the valve seat.
R1 5JJ is a known direct fit and much smaller making the routing of the fuel lines easier, so an ebay search for that should find you a cheap replacement.
