Has anyone ever experience a self closing petcock?
I have fitted an old R6/R1 fuel tap....basic version with 90 deg on/off tap a few months ago which has worked perfectly.
Don't know if its a coincidence, but since I have removed my airbox, the thing shuts itself.
Been noticing lately when i get back to the pits, that it has closed a few degrees, but never so much as to shut the supply off.
Yesterday in my third heat, the bike died but took again once I slowed considerably. I limped back to the pits, to find it had turned about 70 degrees.
WTF....it's not loose by no means, but I have has a tighter tap....

Hi Racer-unk!
Could it be possible that your leathers - boots or trousers - interfere with your petcock?
That would be a thinkable scenario for me rather than imagine a self-closing movement of a petcock that is "not loose by no means" as you wrote.

not even Romano Fenati can reach into a TRX petcock. Dear lord, sometimes I cant even find the damn thing....
I looked and there is nothing, no snagging fuel pipe...(extended to tip tank up)....
