Projection Components exhaust
'ello all,
Does anyone have any experience with this: http://www.projection-components.co.uk/ ... -168-p.asp - my basket case TRX came with two Renegade 2-2 systems. One is a prototype race system with 46mm headers, and the other is a production system. Both are appallingly put together and welded, and neither fit very well. And while I don't have £370 for the Projection Components system at the mo, it looks like a nicely put together bit of kit, and I could definitely be tempted once my finances have recovered a bit from the rest of the work.

Re: Projection Components exhaust
I have one, very happy with it.
It is very light and nicely made. Also larger bore than stock so lets the engine rev out better. You will most likely need to richen the mixture up a bit to account for it.
No information on power gains as have night dynoed before and after but seat of the pants it testing shows an improvement above about 4500rpm. I would say the dyno results on the projection components are pretty indicative of what you can expect

Re: Projection Components exhaust
I have the Projection two into one as well, very well manufactured too.
I've had my head flowed , that and the FCR carbs..it's a sweet set up higher in the rpm.

Re: Projection Components exhaust
I dont know if he is here on the Forum but i found this on youtube:
Performance upgraded with dynojet/Tovami Stage 3(170 Main jet and Pot Filters)
Plus aftermarket exhaust. The dyno result said 83bhp at the rearwear.
Same Setup,Same dyno plus a full 2-2 system and Akra cans resultet in 83rwbhp @7915(Same as befor) but he gained 5nm, in total 92nm @5892
And it revs free in the limiter if you want it to.
Of course the results varies from bike To bike.
Dont know if im allowed To Link his youtube Channel...

Mind you, that full system is a hand-made one-off.
The maker is proud of it too, because after all these years it is still on his website.

Re: Projection Components exhaust
Cool right, it was said that it is costum made but since its 51mm outer diameter(correct me if im wrong) its similar to the projecton componts exhaust system. Im sure he is/was proud on that exhaust system, looks really good

Re: Projection Components exhaust
Well that all sounds pretty positive. I guess I'll start saving. Or find something else to sell. Still got a few ZXR750 body panels up in the loft that I no longer need. And a pair of TZR250 pipes.
Good to see that they sell acousta-fil too. My current set of cans desperately need repacking, if they're ever to stand a chance of getting through trackday noise testing. And as a bonus, if i buy a 2-1 system, I only need to repack one can. Result

Re: Projection Components exhaust
By the way, which cans fit the 2-2 projection componets system? 51mm outer diameter where most of the exhaust should fit, but i only know that the Suzuki K7/8 has double cans which fit directly...

Re: Projection Components exhaust
To the best of my knowledge PC only do a 2:1 system for the TRX.
1996 TRX 850, blue, Ohlins 46HRCLS, Race Tech Gold Valves, 0.90 springs, Venom pipes, R6 brakes............
1974 Yamaha RD250A, Candy Blue
1998 Yamaha SZR660, blue of course
1967 Yamaha TD1C 250, Blue and white

They had it avaible for some time, but The 2-1-2 is discontinued i guess.
I could show you pictures when mine has arrived. Thats why im curious which cans would fit.
I could make my Rombo exhaust fitting To that header but this exhaust is too restrictive i think.

Re: Projection Components exhaust
yes they did have a 2-1-2 system but I don't think they do it anymore.
they might still have the jigs for it though
