Erratic or no spark

Post by 5parkyuk » Fri Jan 27, 2017 11:14 pm

Hopefully people are still here and may help.
I have an ex fire damage Trx project, have stuck on a new loom and the bike turns over.
There is an odd spark now and again but mostly as you stop turning it over.
Is there a pickup for the spark ?
Or Electronic issue ?
Help please.

There is a igniter/pick up screwed on to the inside of the alternator cover, it sends a pulse when a certain raised part of the flywheel whizzes past it. I wouldn't expect it to give any trouble though.
'95 4NX with K&N filter, Motad Venom cans, YSS PD valves, Ohlins fork springs, 530 C+S, Green CDI, 11/16 radial master cylinder, +30mm jack up dog bones. Enjoyable money pit.

Tested leads and coils which are fine, next step is the CDI I suppose.

Traced it to a dodgy connection on the pickup wire.
