Hey guys/gals,
Have a bit of a problem with the current project machine which admitably has been dragging on for way too long now but wouldn't want to bore you too much with that. My issue is that I've had my frame altered and then re-powder coated which is great and I'm happy with the way it's turned out but the chassis plate /vin number was removed in the process and you guessed it...... lost!!!!
Any ideas on how I can get a new one?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Gavin

Re: FRAME/vin plate
Don't know about the UK but here in Aust you can get a vehicle registered as long as the original stamped VIN/frame number can be seen AND it has previously been registered in this country. If your frame number is powder coated you would have to remove the coating in that area non-abrasively.

Re: FRAME/vin plate
What about the riveted metal plate near the head stock that also has the VIN no.? Not sure if Yamaha could stamp you one if you provide your v5 in case you post it?!
I had the frame on TRX #2 powder coated. VIN no. stamped on the frame has disappeared so just have the riveted plate on and hasn't been an issue with MOT etc.
I believe a VIN is a minimum requirement for vehicle traceability.

Numbers were grounded off in the process of altering the frame and the powder coaters removed the riveted plate! !
