Which clutch cable for higher bars?

Post by Kayla » Tue Jun 08, 2010 4:21 pm

Those of you using risers and superbike type bars- what did you do for a clutch cable? Did you just buy a TDM850 one?

£27.66  For a cable? Excluding VAT? Bloody hell. I've bought bikes that've cost less than that

I might give the divvy one a try Geoff, you can get them for less than £10

kingoffifa- That's not yours, is it? You have to admire the optimism of the person who wrote that advert

I believe a Diversion (600?) also fits - its about 10cm or so longer so can be routed better and accounts for the risers.

Blimey!!!!!
Never looked at their prices before Kayla, yes that`s ridiculous Venhills would custom make a stainless braided outer one-off for less than that!
Good to know the TDM-4TX cable fits, cheers Eisi.

I bought a clutch cable from the fabled streetfighter store and it was all wrong - needed 35mm off the outer and the whole thing is about 50mm too long to lose the excess. I just modded it as I didn't want to wait for another but I was wrong. It sucks.

Well if I got one at that price and it was wrong I would be re-routing it anally up streetfighter store!
Oh and if you`ve a Hein Gerrick near you there`s always the universal kit available, although they don`t show it online it`s still in their main catalogue so they must still do it.
