2003 R6 forks, will they fit standard triple tree?

Post by M.V. » Wed Sep 30, 2009 12:36 am

I might be able to get hold of a set of 2003 R6 forks for the right price, does anyone know if they will fit in the standard triple trees? The fork lower looks identical to the TRX... The seller is getting back to me about the tube diameter & brake mounts. If anyone has done it, or knows that it won't work, please let me know!

You can see a pic here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Yamaha-R6-2003-f ... 286.c0.m14

Thanks guys!

Edited fore spealling.

No. R6 forks are 43mm, TRX are 41mm. You might be able to have the TRX yokes bored out to 43mm though. If you decide to use the R6 yokes the offset is larger (around 35mm I think, whereas the TRX's is 30mm) so the bike will be 'livlier'. The TRX calipers will fit the R6 lowers but the wheel spindle is completely different.
