yzf750 swing arm

Post by brockzila » Tue Aug 12, 2008 5:38 pm

right i have been searching on here and have decided to try and compile as much of the info i can find and sort out a few questions i have.Condence the noncence if you like

I Have been quitley working away on ebay snaping up any thing going cheap that i need to do a yzf swin conversion.

Parts needed for the swap
Swingarm (got)
Wheel (got)
axel (need)
wheel spacers.(need)
dog bones and linkage(got)
shock (TRX will do????)
Brake carrier (mod TRX item????)

i am not sure about is the brake carrier. am i correct in thinking that the TRX one will not work as the axel on the yzf is bigger. and if this is the case can i oversize the hole on the trx item to do the job. or am i better off getting a yzf item.some one was doing this how did it work out???

Also can i use my trx shock on the conversion. or do i need to find a yzf shock to make it work properly???

the cush drives, sprocket carrier and caliper can be used of the trx

now i also have a subframe that i will be putting it all togeather on and then just sliping it in all complete,

to get to this stage is there any thing else i need to be thinking about.

I know there will be issues with aligning the chain and sprockets but every one seems to have slightly different issues when it comes to this. im thinking i will have to machine the sprocket carrier down or flip my sprocket over or somthing like. but those are heardles that i will jump when i get to them. at the moment my main concerns are

do i need any thing else other than what i have listed????
are there any other tricks i need to watch out for when fitting it all up (aside from the alignment issues)

I will do a full how to with photos once i get every thing i need.

I just dont want to start the job then figure out that i need somthing small befor i can finish it off.

can any one add to the list or add any concerns.
Is it Brock friendly???

YZF rear axle is the same part as the TRX swingarm pivot bolt. I have one unless you took it.

it breaks down, yes. I'm working on Sunday, so Saturday is your best (read only) option!
Bring your big rucksack this time eh?
