ive been offered what ive been told is a trx engine. now ive asked him for the engine number which is 3ld which i know is xtz750. the thing is it has the oil tank on the back of the engine where in the xtz its in the frame!
im assuming its got the wrong number on it (re-stamped or something?) how can id it as being a trx engine? are all tdm engind 180 degree cranks? ive been told the newer 96- changed the fireing order? if there all 180 degree then its just a case of the old screwdriver down the plug holes trick and they should fall and raise in sync. if there something different then i could be on a looser.

Re: engine id
No clear way of identifying it from the cases
Post 96 TDM engines were virtually identical to TRX engines (inc 270 crank)

What colour is it? Mk1 TDMs were black and were 360 degree. Model number 3VD. Could be the seller misread or mistyped it?
