Fuel leak

Post by Rural Rat » Wed Jun 06, 2007 5:17 am

Has anyone ever had trouble with fuel leaking through the fuel tap gasket? It is leaking between the sections of the tap, not between tap and tank. All screws are tight yet leak persists. Anyone ever had any joy getting a replacement gasket? :(

Had similar on another bike. Fuel was leaking down the screws. Put some petrol proof Loctite sealant on the threads and cured the leak.

Had the same thing. $50 from a wreckers to get a second hand one that leaks just as much. $130 for a new one.

Yamaha Australia sell them for around $10.00 and had some in stock at the start of the year when I got one.
