Main fuel line fuel tap

Post by rbaron25 » Fri Jan 06, 2012 1:49 pm

If you didn't already know the main fuel line going into the fuel tap attaches to a little metal doohickey that pushes into the bottom of the fuel tap. You need to secure it with something. If you don't it might happen to fall out when your turning left onto Kingsford Smith Drive in the far lane with the light turning green. 8-[ [-X   #-o .... Just a little tip......

Excuse me Mr Whale, what's a stripe....

Fixed by swearing, pushing tap back in quickly... After got to side of the road.... Getting to nearest fuel station buying some heavy duty tape and pushing it in as far as it might possibly go then taped it up.... Go me mr mechanical fixit.... And yes it lasted till my test ride and till I got home.... must of checked and looked down every 100m.

Just expanding on this string I had to take the tank off and the petrol continued to dribble out of the petrol pipr from yhe fuel tap so was obviously not turning off. Is there something I can fix by stripping it or what's the fix?
Cheers
