Don't tempt fate Kayla - we made a similar joke about Wendle at Oulton Park & she broke her collarbone & trashed a 748 SP in the proccess

We laugh about it now tho!

Can i take it you'll be tuning the ears off the 660?

Without saying too much, there has been some interest from a few magazines - i'll keep you all up to date. I'm in the process of converting the double page road test that MCN did on my bike in 98 to a format that i can post on here, bear with me coz i'm crap with anything that doesn't involve getting dirt under my nails :D

What did you do to the gearbox? I have heard youcan fit a YZF750 six speeder which if it is any smoother than the frankly s**t TRX box might be worth a go!

Indeed you can, Over did it with their OV15A (TDM based).
As to exactly what is entailed to do it I`ve yet to find out, might not be a simple swap of shafts, pinions, selector drum etc, etc.

4TX4 gearbox fitted - still 5 speed but eliminates that tall 2nd gear (do a couple of track days & you'll realise how bad it is to find the right gear!) Yzf gearboxes aren't any smoother than TRX ones - Yamaha were always notorious for their shoite gearboxes back then

Think of the YZF box as a TRX box with an overdrive (which is essentially what the 6th gear is).

Personally, I don't have any issues with my box - perfectly happy with shifts up and down box

FWIW - the YZF box doesn't just drop in. It's quite an involved job

I find the TRX gearbox very clunky and slow, it requires slow and positive gear changes and on a few occaisions has induced a change of underpants when it dropped out of 2nd into neutral, removing all drive and engine braking.

You suddenly realise how important having drive engaged is to cornering - heresy - but Suzuki / Honda / Kawasaki G.boxes I have used have never felt this crude

Sounds like it could use a strip SDN, mine works fine and dandy, never misses gears or drops out. Expect to find some wear or burred dogs on the reverse of pinions and as for blame?
A past owner and Inline four monkey who was used to stamping down through the box, parallel twins with 270 degree cranks simply don`t play ball in that respect.
