Carbs, a beginner's guide

Post by highlander » Fri Apr 08, 2011 4:37 pm

I See much talk of carbs, FCRs, etc of various sizes.
But it is still a mystical art to me understanding the options and predicting the performance impact on the bike.
Does anyone have a good link to read up on this because I can't find one!

Dummies guides to carbs, how tweaking them can improve and ruin your setup, and the improvements that FCRs give you.

Cheers from the ignorant northern troll!

Ok, well the FCR`s (41mm) should give you 10 bhp plus on an otherwise stock TRX, mine gave me 11 at the back wheel.
The standard carbs can be set up quite nicely, airbox modified etc, but you simply can`t beat the difference the FCR`s will give you.
Try the SEARCH function on the forum, top right of page, search by name, FRC41, carbs, tuning, etc. Alternatively go look through the modifications section in the main menu.

Ah well with the added BHP you save on front tyre wear.
