cleaning up exhaust pipes to a shine.

Just wondering what the best thing would be to polish/clean the exhaust down pipes from the engine on the bike.was considering using a wire brush on the black and decker but i dont want to score them to pieces.

Scotchbrite or generic pads will do it, you could use emery flapwheels in the drill too. :wink:

I used a fine or medium wire wool and autosol at the same time.

I used brasso (or maybe silvo) the one in the blue tin to clean up the ally on my micron end cans came up well considering how much crud was on them. I'll need to find a super industrial sized tin to do the rest of the bike now! :lol:

I went the other way:

But a wire brush (brass) & some polish after will do the trick nicely.

1200 grit wet and dry if they are really bad.

A cloth "flap wheel" thing in the electric drill then Autosol on a scouring pad sorted mine out - having the pipes off the bike makes the job easier too.
