hi every one, im new to the trx just got mine a few weeks ago
can any one help me
i found that my shock is stuffed what is the best fix, get it rebuilt or get a new one

Either really. Depends on your budget and what needs doing to the original to get it rebuilt. Advantage of rebuild is getting sprung and valved to suit your weight and riding.

give it to an specialist like WP or ÖHLINS and you will get a perfect setup for you and your TRX - the best way to get a new bike!
It will be cost round about 200,-€ (WP) in Germany.

I'm looking to replace mine this winter and a Hagon shock here in the UK is circa £300. Not sure its worth spending money rebuilding the stock boinger?

What's a HAGON shock like? I've heard of the name, but never really heard the quality before...Also what length is the standard TRX shock? Would a 300mm HAGON be alright to retro-fit (with necessary mounting bracket of course)??

from memory I think it may be 325mm between centres and the shock is designed with a certain spring rate and damping factor ultimately to work with the bike or rider and style more to the point. Something as devlin mentioned.. Had a good chat with ohlins about rear suspension and options on retro fitting and rebuilding to suit.

get one of Kayla's linkage adaptors, got one on mine and picked up a little used 08 R6 shock from ebay for £60. Newer tech than a re-built TRX shock and cheaper.

Well woth it, only downside is you notice how crap the front end is with a decent rear shock.

I am sorry to high-jack this thread but I have found a HAGON shock for a very decent price. So would a 300mm shock with a 40mm linkage adapter be OK?? Would the linkage adapter be under lots of strain thus causing twisting/distorting?

Also is the geometry and weight of the TRX similar to a 1990-1993 ZZR600? - that's the model that this HAGON shock I found is. I think if it's a completely different bike then the shock will probably not be an upgrade at all but just want to be sure.

Gonna replace mine like for like but then I'm only 11 stone dripping wet and find the stock suspension adequate for my needs. £295 for adjustable preload and damping - basic setup.

Or £70 for an R6 shock (mine cost £80 and was zero miles old) that's fully adjustable for high and low speed compression damping, rebound and preload, plus £35 for an adapter
