A question for the tuners out there. What is the safe max rpm for a TRX I hear of people revving to 9000rpm+ is this safe?

Yep, they`ll go past that but not reliably if they`re stock inside.
The Over OV15 TDM motor based racer revved past 9,500 but they didn`t need it to with 115 bhp at 8,500 rpm.

Yes it is safe to rev to 9.5k

The 'full advance' TPS bypass mod raises to rev limit to 10,000 iirc. perfectly safe.

I wouldn`t do it even if I could, that`s through the useable power band and out the other side.If Over managed to get 115 bhp at 8,500 rpm you can bet that revving the motor beyond that is totally unnecessary.

Im just curious thats all as on my dyno session it revved easily to 9000rpm and peaked at 8000rpm I just wanted to know if this is ok to go that high into the red as it went there so readily.

All motors are all built within quite low tolerances.

If you've ever seen a motor being tested at a factory, the throttle is pinned to the max and left for a good while!

The TRX lump is quite a solid 'lazy' motor so it can take it.

BTW the 10k maximum limit with the tps mod is intended for a tuned motor to get the best from it.

My track bike with the Over cdi fitted would bounce off the limiter regularly at Oran park coming onto the straight. Got there so quickly. Didn't seem to hurt the motor at all. The standard motor doesn't make any more power after 7600 rpm so it's pointless going there really.
