120/70 diablo

Post by steve speed » Sat Feb 09, 2008 3:11 pm

just fitted my new front tyre ,and the difference is like night and day the way it now tips into corners is as it should be ,,this really is a must do mod ,Ive also jacked the back up with the ride height on the ohlins and that's put some more weight over the front , there's now a lot more feedback from the front ,,Ive just done about 50 miles scrubbing the front tyre in ,hope to get some more mile on it Sunday

yer, you answered my question. What i ment was, what tyre was on there originally.
Who cares about more power. You have more than enough to get into, and out of trouble. Its not about power, its about how much you enjoy what you have.

I have just replaced my tyres (120/60/17 pilot sport and 160/60/17 pilot power) with 120/70/17 and 170/60/17 Road 2ct and rode home through the Audley national park to the South Coast of NSW and to say that the difference is unbelievable is an understatement.

I was worried about going to the 170 on the rear but combined with the 70 series on the front the bike tips over so much better and seems to track better at the front.

I bought my new tyres from Sydney Performance Motorcycles at Tarren Point and can recommend their Service, price and attitude.

Incidently I ordered a new rear tyre from my local dealer on the south coast and 8 weeks down the track I still have not heard from them, and that is why I went to Sydney to get my new tyres.

I know that I have spent a lot of money with my local dealer and i believe that I should support local business, but with service like that what other choice did I have? I did visit my local dealer on 2 seperate occasions only to be told that the tyre i wanted was in short supply.

It got to the point that my tyres were just about shot and to wait any longer would have meant no more riding.

I wonder how many other riders have experienced this sort of service only to take their money outside the area where they live.
