Does anyone have recommendations on vacuum gauges? Can I just get a single and swap bewteen the two vacuum hoses connections until it's balanced? Just not sure whether I need to look for a double gauge setup or can just buy a single. Cheers.

tbh you'd be better off with a twin unit cos there's too much fekking about moving a single from one line to the other. Morgan Carbtune is a brilliant piece of kit - dead simple to use and easier to compare vacuums than dial gauges.

Thanks Mr Young. I figured the double dials would be the way to go.

I purchased a carb balancing tool a while back. Your welcome to borrow it. Works very well.

Thanks Kev. I might order the emulsion tubes soon and take you up on that. I would like to have some anway, but budget prioritys always seem to dictate.

I checked out chose Morgan guages. Seems like a good bit of kit.

The balancer kit i bought was from the UK. It's a couple of pieces of clear tube with ball bearings inside. Can't go wrong. All attachments were included. Cost about $20 posted. I've got a small fuel tank as well, ideal so you can run the bike with your tank off. Let me know when you want them as i'll be away on holidays in two weeks time.

I'm a cheap bastard and made my own from clear tube and upper cylinder lubricant...

it worked, and I'm still cheap!

LOL
You're cheap and yet you have Keihin FCRs and an R1 frontend fitted ???

I'm cheap - if it was possible, I'd bore the standard Mikunis out to 41mm! :D

Oh yeah. I have a Morgan Carbtune and like most others, think it's great; feels like it will last as lifetime, too, unlike the cheapo versions.

I'm about to buy a Davida twin gauge set (the old style with the dials)
$140 from Motociclo @ St Peters. Have a meter style Twinmax that I never really figured out how to use. Only ever used it once on the Guzzi. That's not say say its a bad unit, just confusing

Kev, how did you make the tank? Was it off something like a mower or can you buy them ready made ala Repco?
I did see something similar with vacuum guages with a little remote fuel supply in a Stein Dinse Guzzi catalogue, but do you think I can find the bloody thing?

Came off some kind of ride on mower. Doesn't have a tap, i just use my crimping pliers to stop the flow. Holds about 5 litres.
