2nd Linkage hole
Was just standing back and admiring the old girl after another pleasurable ride, and notice there are two set of hole in the chassis where the linkage attaches. Anyone care to shed some light on what they are for?

^thanks Dicky. I must remember to type the .jpg next time.
So anyways, finally got around to ordering dogbones, so was having a percursory glance around the old girl's nether regions and was wondering what the extra holes were for.. It can't be a second position for the link could it? The shock would foul on the arm. Or it would lower and soften the bike or something wouldnt it? Must be some reason for it. Anyone?

Re: 2nd Linkage hole
Been questions many times over the years with no confirmed answer from Yamaha.
A few have tried using a linear relay arm like from a YZF750 but again it’s pointless unless you retune the shock to work with the rising rate of the relay arm.

Re: 2nd Linkage hole
There was a thought that it's for a "factory Tool" that is primarily a bolt and a sleeve that when in place locks the rear swing arm (via the linkage) allowing you to remove the rear shock easily, I've never tried it and can only speculate as to its success...Trx envy wrote:Ok cheers. If it's not made in China, it's a fake!

I thought it was to "lighten" the frame, … y'know to save a bit of weight and improve performance ?
No ???
No ???
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

Hi!
In the first days of owning my TRX (about 13 years ago) I thought of fixing a main stand thereon ... but never got this far.
What these holes are intended for I also have no idea.

Re: 2nd Linkage hole
It’s been a while since I was on here (18 months), but the centre stand theory is not far fetched. I knew a guy here in Sydney that fitted a custom centre stand to his green TRX. It’s the only place I can see that he would’ve fit it.
Hi Jochen, you still around.
