Running Temperature ?

Post by Nobbynumbnuts » Mon Jul 03, 2017 5:34 pm

On rebuilding the engine , on initial start up , the Temperature Guage is showing 100. This is while stationary. The fan hasn't cut in yet. Does this seem normal. Should the fan have cut in. Could there be an air lock. Should I just take it out fora blast ?

The fan kicks in a little over the 100 mark (105 I think) so what you've experienced is normal.

How long does it take to get to 100. When I am balancing my carbies, it usually takes about 10 minutes to get that high if I don't use an electric pedestal fan to keep it up cool. If you are getting there within a couple of minutes, then you have a problem.
