Speedo to fast

Hi guys,

the answer is most probably somewhere in this forum, but I couldn't find it.

I installed the white stickers for the gauges, but they didn't work the way I wanted, so had to peek them off again.
Great service from Cut Grafix, as they refunded the full amount.

When I rode the TRX after re-assembling everything, I noticed my speedo showing approx. 120 km/h but I wasn't faster than the other vehicles.
I guess I didn't get the speedo in the correct zero position.

Some advise in how to find the correct position for speedo and tacho?

All help is much appreciated.

Cheers

bluetac and a toothpick stuck to the underside of the speedo face and use that as a pointer marker for 0

download free "GPS speedo" app for smartphone or iphone.
Stick phone on bars next to keys and note readings and positions of needles whilst riding along

adjust speedo sticker position to suit

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Will give it a go, a lot of mucking around to get it right I guess.
Didn't have ant plans for the weekend anyway :)

I'm not sure if I have made the same mistake for the tacho as well.
What revs should the engine be at 100km/h?

Cheers

Thanks Cobba
I'm just after a rough idea with standard tyre size.
The tacho seems out as well.

Followed instructions found on here, but still didn't get it right it seems.

Most speedos on bikes and cars from Japan will read slightly fast for the fact that most drivers will sit on the speed limit, ..so allowing for tyres and drivers ,..they set the instrument to about 5--6 kilometres above.

How about find a car or bike owner with a recent model to drive at the required speed and then calibrate yours to suit.
A thumbs up or toot on the horn would suffice.
