I'd say the board is too deep & covers more than it needs to? Why not try an oval board which will complement the lamp shape better & won't require what looks like a paper tear in the upper brake side corner - split the colour 50/50, black on lamp side & white on the other with maybe a contrasting (i.e. inverted or reversed) pinstripe?

I've finished the exhaust and made a few changes to the front colour scheme and its now acceptable. It will look a lot better once the fork legs and yokes are in black.
As the man once said... "You can have any colour , as long as its black"

Headers are looking sweet - good work, you could make a few quid making bespoke systems for people mate seriously.

That paper tear corner is still getting on my t**s tho!

There's nothing I can do about the "tear". The brake banjo bolt sticks out too far.

About the exhaust system, well it looks nicer in the pics. Its a bit rough when you look up close and when you're used to the top makes, like Devil or Akra. I'm not a full time fabricator and all this is hand-made ,including the angled cuts (125mm angle grinder)so of course , it's not perfect. Still there's many hours put into it and it is a one off. This system was a bit experimental, I might sell it cheap in the near future to re-do one for the Akrapovic slip on. The Remus puts out a nice semi-loud sound and it's got a removable baffle in there.

I'll do a test run soon and post a video on my blog with a link here.

Thanks for all your help guys!

And that's it for phase 1 of my rebuild project.

In the near future I 'll be changing some more bits and adding more black bits whilst removing silver bits. Oh and braided brake lines are on the way to do a 1 into 2 front circuit.

PS- I know the slip on is too big, but it only weights 2.5kgs, so its not all bad.

Hi Nice job on the pipework. Whats the inside diameter of the downpipes please? How much was the tubing?

I'm using 38mm (OD) and 51mm (OD) after they join up to the end can that uses 54mm.

I think I spent something close to £100 on bends alone but I still have lots.

Looking already good.

Front numberplate black so the headlight is a bit more soaked up..?

The muffler bracket is pointing forward..did the Remus made you do that?
As it should be bolted on ...are you thinking of making 1 new bracket instead of the now mounted 2?

Yep, number board will be black with silver number 5

I had to cut the pillion foot pegs off the brackets and use the LH one on the righ hand side so it faces forward. The Remus comes with 2 internal threads to bolt the bracket on and they're too far forward. For now I'm keeping the 2 brackets setup because I work all day long with bikes and cant be arsed to do a good job on mine. It takes too long and the day only has 24h. Reminds me of the Gynecologist story...

So when does phase 2 start then?

Your avatar seems to be lacking curry sauce - this needs addressing?

Bikes looking really good - far from the swamp dog you rescued =D>

In Phase 1 ,I always intended to get the bike on the road and that was my first concern. To take care of the chassis/mechanical problems in the bike and to make it work properlly, from engine to brakes and suspension. Now that it's all done I'll move on to the aesthtetical issues like getting the right colours , cleaning alloys, changing rusty bolts. Al this by spending the least amount of money possible. I'm only a salary boy and got too many bikes, I'm already biting 4 times more than I can chew.

I would like to simplify the stock wiring harness and reduce the amount of hoses and pipes that go back and forward in the frame, again for aesthetical purposes but there's so much work involved its even hard to think about it.

Anyway I would like to thank Dave (Trixynut) for being so reliable and selling me the bits I need. Cheers "dude"!

Do you realise that a bike with a passenger seat wont pass an MOT without passenger footrests.
