Anyone get out this w/e ?

Post by Yoozy » Sun Aug 25, 2013 3:59 pm

I was feeling like shit all week and didn't think I'd be out, but felt fit and ready this morning. Up at 6, out with the dogs, back at 7-15. Mooch on here with toast and brew, on the bike at 8-15. Up to Belmont and the weather was looking ropey towards The Trough so 3 laps of the Rivi tt and fook it, was feeling groovy so went up to Fairfield Cafe and shared a sausage and egg barm with the fattest lab int world. On to Hawes, Devils Bridge, Caton, and then for a Trough attack through Bentham and over to Ribchester. Weather was ace, hardly anything ont roads. Back at 1-15 with a rapid 190 miles done. Ace day, ace bike :D

I was planning on going to Bala lake or Bedgelert, but I left it too late and instead,I also ended up at Rivi barn,as yesterday, weather was great and there were loads of bikes there, but as usual when the sun is out,Rivi was packed with far too many cars. After a coffie and chips, headed over the moor passed the resevior to Withnell, then to the carousel at Southport, after another cup of coffie, back to home to Kirkby, not a bad ride.Only down side,I only covered 90 miles but when I got home my shoulders & arms were aching badly,my last bike was a GPZ900,before that an 850 Commando,so it could just be that I'm not used to the riding position yet as I've only had the TR on the road since the end of june. But I'm gonna raise the bars the inch or so to the top of forks and see if thats any better,if not I,ll look at fitting a set of raised bars, looking at the pic of your bike it can be made to look good, and I can get decent mirrors rather than the usless bar ends I've got now.If you could post a few more photo's so I can have really good look at

Had a ride to Skegness, meeting up with a friend on a VFR400 NC30 part way. I managed to beat him at "Thrill Drive" in the arcades so not a bad day. After 200 miles my legs were in pain though, something about the position of the gear lever and the cramped seating position is too much for a tendon in my left leg. Bike ran faultlessly though so can't complain

After a crap couple of days weather it finally cleared up enough for me to take a new-found mate and introduce him to H-Cafe (aka Foxes Diner).
Only a short ride for me , but lots of twisty bits to enjoy. Loads of interesting machinery to look at , and I got to test ride his Tuono ... high bars and 1000cc bloody nearly ripped my arms off , but I'll stick with mt TRX thanks.
Didn't take a camera tho'
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

Aww come on, a Tuono for naughty days and the Trx for not so naughty days :D One of the lads said the other day, 'what yer keep going on on that old thing for ?' Couldn't really explain but told him even though it was old, its light, nimble, enough poke for our back roads and somehow it all makes sense, just kinda works. Love it.

Yes Dave , at 58 you should know better !!
Like, ... if you shift your foot back a little on the peg and 'push' your heel out, you won't wear out your boot sliders so much :D
