Cadwell 29th Oct

Post by Silver » Wed Oct 24, 2012 9:27 am

Booked to do this for £49 with Nolimits. Looks like it might be a bit chilly, but keen to give the bike a run before winter.

Andy, the bike went really well. It was damp and cold for two sessions, dry line for the next then one really dry session before lunch that was great. Unfortunately it started drizzling again after lunch so only did one of the 2 sessions as it got really cold too.
Still good value at £49.

Just got the paint finished in time (brush painted by me).

Looking good!

What make are the plastics? Both the seat unit and fairing look different to mine.

Andy i cant remember, might have been harris. They are a bit rough in places and made of glass fibre but good enough for what i want. The front end is CBR600 including wheel and mudguard.

I was so busy looking at the strange mudguard that I didn't even notice the rest of the front end had changed  .

Andy i checked the original advert, the seat unit and fairing are both Harris.
They dont list them anymore but they might still have the moulds.

That's worth knowing for the future.

I have a set of Skidmarx race bodywork at the moment. It uses the original seat and the fairing has the detail for indicators and mirrors, albeit undrilled. That'll do me nicely until my next 'off'.

I've been looking at the winter warmer track days and they look like excellent value. Tyre choice will be tricky at this time of year though. I'm starting to think a set of wets on wheels is a good idea, or even a second track bike!

I would be interested in a race fairing too if there are any group buys on :)
