crash

Post by Silver » Sun Oct 23, 2011 6:15 pm

just recovering after hitting a car turning right last week. looks like the shiver is a write off and maybe the fiat punto too. have bruising to lower back and lower leg. fortunately landed on my head. good quality leathers and luck saved me from much worse fate. no more road riding for me. dave

Glad you're reasonably OK!!! Give it a few weeks and you might feel differently. Shame about the bike :(

Hey Dave, sorry to hear about this! :(

Sounds like it could have been worse, but bad luck.

Sure you'll recover ok.

Shame about the Shiver, that was a nice bike.

....and never say never

Hi Silver!

Sorry to hear that - I wish you a fast and complete recovery!

Re "no more road riding" - I could understand it; riding on track has its own dangers (no question!) but riding on the road with the increasing lot of brainless drivers is less and less fun and more and more dangerous.

Since 2006 I'm riding more and more on the track and less on the road but I still have fun on the road and - hopefully - will never lose it.

Sympathising greetings from Munich!

Get well soon Dave.
It's a very personal choice as to whether you get another road bike or not.
I've had my fair share of 'offs' , some my own fault and some as just an innocent bystander. And the older you get ... the more they hurt. It's just made me more aware and cut down the risk-taking (the bits i CAN control) , but if biking is in your blood ..........
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

I'm glad you're as ok as you can be :) As for no more road riding, I can completely see where you're coming from, but...

traillies and supermotos are the way forward, because damage isn't damage, it's character! Get well soon x
