Rockingham UK: Mon 16 June: No Limits..
Just booked onto this one...
Monday June 16th, Rockingham UK (National circuit), with No Limits
Here's the link...
http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/acatal ... vents.html
Anyone else fancy it?
Rockingham is a great TRX track: lots of smooth smooth corners, no huge straights, and good modern pit facilities and easy to get to being in Northants. National Circuit is much better than the International one too. No noise limits either.
Price on the No Limits website says £109, but when you book it, it's actually £85 !!!
May even have stopped snowing/hailing etc by then!
Anyone??
Dave.

Would love to but will be at work!trixynut wrote:Anyone up for it?

Rockingham is definitely recommended to all other TRX owners as TRX-friendly I'm hoping to do another day there at the end of June or in July. No worries about noise testing either, assuming my Hottrax day was representative. They didn't do any...

I'm seriously considering this one; Rockingham's about a 15 minute ride from my house + I've ridden and driven it before...

Dave - are you doing any weekend days in the near future? Trying to schedule a time to try out my new Ohlins (courtesy of a certain black and white ex-TRX) shock...trixynut wrote:Anyone up for it?

Would also be up for a midweek day towards the end of June or thereafter, work permitting.

Nothing else planned at the moment, but will want to do a couple more days befoe too long. Try and avoid weekends due to cost/noise.
Reasonably relaxed on what days I can do in the week fortunately.
Mallory?

Never been but it sounds good to me. Let me know if/when you pick a date - I'm trying to chivvy a few of my local bikie mates into coming along on another one, so if I set something up in the mean time (Mallory or elsewhere), I'll post it in the track day section.trixynut wrote:Nothing else planned at the moment, but will want to do a couple more days befoe too long. I've just booked in for this in the Novice Group; I'll be on my own so Trixynut, looks like you may have some unwanted company!

Peter,
Nice one!
I'm on my own too: my mate with a ZX6R who was gonna come along has broke his ankle falling off at Silverstone!
I've gone for Inters group, but prolly get bumped down to Novice group too!
See you there.
Dave.

Re: Rockingham UK: Mon 16 June: No Limits..
Absolutely top day!! Sunny but not too hot. Track was awesome. Managed to hold my own in the Intermediate group. New YZF front end performed well, as did the whole bike. Good company (Nice to meet you Pete: see you again at another trackday?)
Bit too many crashes/stoppages, but still got seven 15min. sessions on track, and took some great video with my Oregon helmet cam thing, mounted on the tank (but 15 mins on medium resolution and with sound is 750MB!!! If I can download some of it somewhere, I'll post up a link.) Photos: two of me, one of Pete....

Well summed up by Dave above; indeed the track was good and suited the TRX well, but there were certainly far too many incidents, considering the excellent conditions we had. Having not really put the blue spots I'd had previously fitted to the test, I was very pleased with the way they performed. Nice to meet you too Dave, I'll be looking out for any future track days.
I look forward to seeing the footage you captured...
