Fisrt time on a track this week at Teeside Track, great day in the novice category. It was nice to see what the TRX can do in a safe (ish) place, defo going to go again. Bike was embarrased down the straights tho, but made up for it on the twisty sections. Found I was scrapping the pegs before getting my knee down, so gunna have to lean off the bike a bit more I think, but a lot of fun :D

Well done phil. I managed to fall off last time out, but i am booked for cadwell on monday evening so will hopefully get back to normal. I used to scrape pegs, but made up some rearsets but still scraped so jacked up rear and eventually fitted R6 shock.
Nice pics by the way
Dave

Cheers Silver and mr Con Rod

I've already got r6 shock fitted to the bike and bike does sit quite high, (I am about 6ft and fits me comfortably) also I have a set of Kayla's adapters fitted which I think is 25mm up and back.

Lokking at some video I am not leaning off the bike enough (even though I feel like I am) but this is onlt the first time I've relly given it some so just glad I didnt make a tit of myself...

you'll never forget your first trackday ... it should be a classified drug ... drop your shoulder a bit and try put your head where the mirror should be ...

Photos on your trackdays hold a wealth of info and a bonus Phil.
I find them a great tool as You can really fine tune your riding style and posture and the benefits in confidence will follow.
If you haven't ridden in a little while its easy to fall into a few bad habits, I need to remind myself
each time I ride after time off the bike.
Kissing the mirrors as its called is a good tip.

My last track day I focused most of the day just on foot position.
Keeping on the ball of your foot before dropping into a corner was something I had to remind myself and holding my foot at the right angle.
With scoliosis in my back, my posture and hips are not good so I find I compensate even when standing upright by tilting my right foot out instead of straight ahead.
So that was being transposed onto the pegs when riding.
Looks like you thoroughly enjoyed yourself. 8) 8)

nice one - how did you find teesside aurodrome?

I have done cadwell, Oulton and Croft, and the autodrome is the only track where I have been begging for the chequered flag after 15 mins haha
its tough on the body, but a lot of fun, and very cheap.

Blyton park is a good one for a workout and prob not quite as far as cadwell for you lot. However i did fall off there last time out! But i will be back. Had to replace quite a few bits including bent forks. all better now!
Next outing is Bedford Autodrome on 3rd august. 2.8 mile lap there and a 1km straight which is a bit of a pain on the trx, but the rest of the infield is really good.

Took me til the third session to figure out the lines for that show right left right right before the straight, and by that time was exhausted and lacked concentration by then. But the long right hand after the straight, was doing 50/55mph and like I said scrapping the pegs. But seeing the photos and videos can see body positions not right
