And according to the met office too. Doublecrossfingers!

Not sure which bikes are coming yet as my mate on the 929 needs to let me know if he's trailering up with me. Suppose he could ride the CBR4 but I don't want him complaining if it breaks on its first track outing or if everyone passes him!

The NC's just had the valves done and runs well, but I'm a bit unsure about the brakes, as they're the shitemetal  sliding twin pot Nissins. At least one sticky piston, the pin covers have welded themselves solid and one of the anti rattle plates has broken completely. Going to buy NC30 fork lowers and 4-pots after Friday, rebuild the forks and then ceremonially burn the sliders...

My other mate with the new NC24 has "wimped out" pleading leaky fork seals (yer what?) and the tach reading half speed  (big problem there!). He's never done a track day and I reckon he's just scared everyone will be quicker than him... never bothers me but there you go!

Roll on Friday!

Dave, hope you're doing OK after your incident! :( :( #-o :salute: :blackeye: You should know that about five other people repeated your "error" i.e. out of Edwina's, so you were not alone. Hope it was just a case cover that that was damaged (I thought of you every time I saw that oil slick on the exit  ) and that the TRX will be OK. I tracked down Vince eventually and asked him to tell you get well soon...

The CBR400 went very well, although of course it got passed by everyone down the straights. All those effing Ducati racer types (new era?) were stuffing it up the inside into corners and as usual Hottrax did sod all about enforcing the passing rules. Me and my mate Jonathan were apparently the only people behaving, so of course every corner when we avoided diving up the inside of someone, two other ****ers would do it to us. It was just a bit too crowded, unfortunately.

The CBR couldn't have been that slow, as I was catching everyone all the way through Gerards by the third session, but it was a bit crowded on the track for a bike with a power-to-weight ratio that low. Thought I was maybe just being crap, but then I borrowed my mate's 929 for a session and realised how much the extra power through the corners helps, e.g. those esses after Edwinas where the CBR was just flat-stick and being passed on the power. I gave the 929 back after one session though - the speed you end up carrying into Gerards was frightening with that much power, not to mention outbraking yourself into the hairpin and Edwinas. Think the TRX would have gone very well at Mallory, but I did like riding a £600 bike that I could crash and not worry too much about. Although losing the front into Gerards would give you something else to worry about, I imagine!

not had a good look at the bike yet: its at home in the garage and i had a quick glance but could feel meself 'welling up' so took a quick snap on my phone and shut the door!

its all left side, and deffo needs mudguard, fairing, screen, bracket, mirror, clipon, switches, lever, tank, gearshift, rearset, rear plastic, can, and i think the engine casing has worn thro.... :( as theres lots of oil on the floor

in for an operation on tuesday to sort my finger cos its not setting right so not gonna be up to much spannering for a few weeks

thats the last time I take Edwinas in second instead of 3rd, and give it a handfull on the exit on a dunlop d220 touring tyre. Highside city!

None of this is for sale Dave but I've got standard fairing, tank, tinted screen, rear seat unit & mudguard you can use/borrow ? All black, all have a few marks/cracks but a lot better than any of yours stuff & all perfectly usable. I can bring it over tomorrow if it helps ? If the casing isn't too bad it might repair with quick steel ? Got a tube of it if you want or I could take your casing away & repair it if you're not up to it ?
Let me know if any of the above is required & I'll throw it on the back of my van tomorrow morning. :D Failing that I could always try & talk you into selling your TRX (what's left) to me... . Again !
Get well soon matey.

It dumped quite a bit of oil on the track as well.

Think I have the TRX clipons left over if you want one.
